Support the Newark Data Center - (3/16/2014)

The proposed Newark Data Center, and its associated natural gas power plant, has the potential to bring thousands of jobs to Delaware during construction and create hundreds of permanent jobs after completion. However, some groups opposed to the project have continually sought to derail the project's progress, citing environmental concerns. Their opposition places the future of the data center--and thousands of good paying jobs--at great risk.

This Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 PM, an appeal hearing for the project's city zoning verification will be held at the Newark High School auditorium. It is expected that the hearing will be well attended by groups opposed to the project. As such, we ask for all available Boilermakers--active, retired, family, and friends--to attend the hearing to show support and counter any opposition group presence.

Details on the hearing are below:

WHAT: Newark Data Center city zoning appeal hearing
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, March 19 at 6:00 PM
LOCATION: 750 East Delaware Avenue, Newark, DE 19711

Seating for the hearing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask that anyone planning to attend arrive as early as possible, starting at 4:30 PM.

If you have any questions, please contact the union hall at 215-785-5536. Thank you for your participation!
